If you’ve walked into the Secretary’s Office at Montessori International School the last week, you’ll have seen a wonderfully colorful display.
In 2nd and 3rd grade Art class, we finished a very involved project, where the students didn’t just learn about color theory, but applied it by creating a color wheel out of play dough. But that wasn’t all! We also read a lovely story called “Color Carne,” and learned about the beautiful variety of skin tones that exist in our diverse world, then each student got the opportunity to create their own skin tone, also by mixing play dough.
Through trial and error, we saw just how difficult it can be to do! We then made people, and set them up under our color wheel “umbrella”. The results are so pretty, and so unique, just like each one of us. After all, “We are all as different as the colors of the rainbow, and that’s beautiful.”
Rueda de Colores de Plastilina
Si has entrado en hall del colegio durante la última semana, habrás visto una exposición maravillosamente colorida.
En la clase de Arte de 2.º y 3.º de primaria, hemos terminado un proyecto muy complejo, en el que los alumnos no solo han aprendido la teoría del color, sino que la han aplicado creando una rueda de colores con plastilina. ¡Pero eso no es todo! También hemos leído un precioso cuento titulado «Color Carne» y hemos aprendido sobre la hermosa variedad de tonos de piel que existen en nuestro mundo tan diverso.
A continuación, cada alumno ha tenido la oportunidad de crear su propio tono de piel, también mezclando plastilina. A través de la prueba y el error, vimos lo difícil que puede ser hacerlo. Luego hicimos personitas y las colocamos bajo nuestro «paraguas» de la rueda de colores. Los resultados son muy bonitos y únicos, como cada uno de nosotros. Después de todo, “todos somos tan diferentes como los colores del arcoíris, y eso es maravilloso.”
