Natural Science 2nd Grade
One of the projects the second-grade students have been working on this first term is “Our plant journey”, a project that has been addressed in a cross-curricular way through Art, Social Science and Natural Science. The goal was helping second-grade students understand the importance of plants, their fundamental characteristics, and fostering respect for them. First, each student created their own flower pot by hand, which they later used to plant the seeds. They decorated the pots and applied glue to waterproof them. On the day they planted their seeds in cotton, they began recording the development of their plants: they gave them names and described the process they followed to plant the seeds. Over several weeks, each student has been documenting the growth of their plant through pictures and words, until the end of their journal, at which point they will take their new companion home. What an exciting journey for everyone.
