During this unit, fourth-year students have been immersed in the fascinating study of the universe and its many components. Throughout our classes, we have explored the various celestial bodies that inhabit space, beginning with our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and delving into the study of the different planets that orbit around us.
One of the main objectives of our research has been to better understand the movements of the Earth and the Moon, two celestial bodies that play a fundamental role in our solar system. The Earth, our home, not only rotates on its own axis, creating the daily cycle of day and night, but also orbits the Sun in a journey that lasts approximately 365 days, giving rise to the seasons of the year.
On the other hand, the Moon, our natural satellite, orbits the Earth in a period of approximately 28 days. This lunar cycle is responsible for the phases of the Moon that we can observe from the Earth’s surface. We learned that there are different positions of the Moon in relation to the Earth and the Sun, which causes us to see it in different ways throughout the month.
Explorando el Movimiento de la Tierra y la Luna
Durante esta unidad, los alumnos de cuarto curso han estado inmersos en el fascinante estudio del universo y sus múltiples componentes. A lo largo de nuestras clases, hemos explorado los diversos cuerpos celestes que habitan el espacio, comenzando por nuestra propia galaxia, la Vía Láctea, y adentrándonos en el estudio de los distintos planetas que orbitan a nuestro alrededor.
Uno de los objetivos principales de nuestra investigación ha sido comprender mejor los movimientos de la Tierra y la Luna, dos cuerpos celestes que juegan un papel fundamental en nuestro sistema solar. La Tierra, nuestro hogar, no solo gira sobre su propio eje, creando el ciclo diario de día y noche, sino que también orbita alrededor del Sol en un viaje que dura aproximadamente 365 días, dando lugar a las estaciones del año.
Por otro lado, la Luna, nuestro satélite natural, realiza un movimiento de órbita alrededor de la Tierra en un período de aproximadamente 28 días. Este ciclo lunar es responsable de las fases de la Luna que podemos observar desde la superficie terrestre. Aprendimos que hay diferentes posiciones de la Luna en relación con la Tierra y el Sol, lo que provoca que la veamos de distintas maneras a lo largo del mes.
